Southern Railway Apprentice Salary / Stipend 2025
During training, apprentices will receive a stipend as per Government norms:
- Freshers (10th Pass): ₹6,000/- per month
- Freshers (12th Pass / MLT): ₹7,000/- per month
- Ex-ITI Candidates: ₹7,000/- per month
Additionally, stipend increases by 10% in the second year and 15% in the third year of training.

- Fitter & Painter: 2 years
- Welder & MLT Trades: 1 year 3 months
- Ex-ITI Apprentices: As per Apprenticeship Rules (rebate based on ITI course duration).
Selection Process – Southern Railway Apprentice 2025
Selection will be made purely on merit basis (no written exam, no interview).
- Fresher Category: Based on 10th Class marks (minimum 50% required).
- Ex-ITI Category: Marks of 10th (50% weightage) + ITI (50% weightage).
- MLT Trades: Based on 12th Marks (PCB).
- In case of a tie, older candidates will be given preference.
