Education Qualifications & NCC Criteria
For NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders (General Category)
Graduate Degree from a recognized university. Final-year students may apply if they complete and obtain the degree before course commencement; for shortlisting, aggregate % of earlier semesters is used.
Service in NCC:2/3 years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wing.
Grading: Minimum ‘B’ Grade in NCC ‘C’ Certificate. Provisional ‘C’ Cert is not accepted at SSB (must hold final ‘C’ Cert by SSB; provisional may be used only at application time if later upgraded before SSB).
For Wards of Battle Casualties
Graduate Degree; final-year rules same as above.
NCC ‘C’ Certificate is NOT required for this sub-category.
Required documents: Battle Casualty certificate (MP Dte/AG’s Branch as applicable by date), Part II Order, Relationship Certificate, etc. (as per notification).
Age Limit (as on 01 Jan 2026)
19 to 25 years (Born between 02 Jan 2001 and 01 Jan 2007, both dates inclusive).
Training & Commission Details
Training Academy: Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai
Training Duration: 49 weeks (April 2026 batch)
Rank After Training: Lieutenant
Type of Commission: Short Service Commission (SSC) – 10 years, extendable up to 14 years.
Option for Permanent Commission: After 10 years, subject to eligibility.
Indian Army NCC Salary 2025
During training, cadets get a stipend of ₹56,100 per month. After commissioning, pay and allowances are as per the 7th CPC.
