Southern Railway Apprentice 2025 : Age Limit (as on 25.08.2025)

  • Freshers/Ex-ITI: 22 years

Southern Railway Apprentice 2025 : Educational Qualification

1. Fresher Category:
   • Fitter, Painter, Welder: 10th Pass with 50% marks.
   • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT): 12th Pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
2. Ex-ITI Category:
   • 10th Pass with 50% marks + ITI in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognized institutes.

Southern Railway Apprentice Salary / Stipend 2025

During training, apprentices will receive a stipend as per Government norms:

• Freshers (10th Pass): ₹6,000/- per month
• Freshers (12th Pass / MLT): ₹7,000/- per month
• Ex-ITI Candidates: ₹7,000/- per month

Additionally, stipend increases by 10% in the second year and 15% in the third year of training.

Southern Railway Apprentice Training Period

• Fitter & Painter: 2 years
• Welder & MLT Trades: 1 year 3 months
• Ex-ITI Apprentices: As per Apprenticeship Rules (rebate based on ITI course duration).

Selection Process – Southern Railway Apprentice 2025

Selection will be made purely on merit basis (no written exam, no interview).

• Fresher Category: Based on 10th Class marks (minimum 50% required).
• Ex-ITI Category: Marks of 10th (50% weightage) + ITI (50% weightage).
• MLT Trades: Based on 12th Marks (PCB).
• In case of a tie, older candidates will be given preference.
